SECTION purpose
Purposes of the Probate & Estate Planning Section
- To develop and encourage the practice of the highest standards of conduct for attorneys in the State of Hawai'i, and particularly among attorneys practicing in the probate and estate planning law fields in the State;
- To aid and assist the members of the Hawaii State Bar Association, and particularly Section members, in the performance of their legal duties;
- To provide a forum for the exchange of experiences, ideas and opinions with respect to probate and estate planning through discussion, study and publication;
- To consider all matters of legal interest relating to probate and estate planning;
- To engage in educational and related activities;
- To sponsor, encourage and promote scholarship in the probate and estate planning law fields;
- To collect, analyze and disseminate information as to legislation and judicial decisions concerns probate and estate planning;
- To initiate, sponsor and promote within the Association legislation and uniform laws, and standards of conduct and competence, when necessary and appropriate or in public interest;
- To promote good fellowship among the members of the Section;
- To serve as a spokesperson for the Hawaii State Bar Association, subject to appropriate authorization;
- To take such action as may be necessary or appropriate to accomplish the purposes of this Section as expressed in these By-Laws and in the Constitution of the Hawai'i State Bar Association
