SECTION purpose
Purposes of the Criminal Justice & Corrections Section
- The purpose of the Section is to serve and promote the interests of the general public, the judiciary, the Association and its members (including study, conferences, publications, sharing of information and opinions, and testimony before legislative bodies) within the fields of criminal law and corrections which includes all aspects of the criminal justice system, the juvenile justice system, and related civil and administrative matters, including the definition of crimes, the prevention and control of crime, arrest, pretrial release, the prosecution and defense of criminal cases, trial, sentencing, appeals, post-conviction procedures, corrections, and the rehabilitation of offenders.
