
This page lists HSBA-accredited CLE providers and outlines approved jurisdictions recognized by the Hawaii State Board of Continuing Legal Education. Attorneys may earn CLE or ethics credits through courses offered by accredited providers or through programs approved by another HSBA-approved jurisdiction, without submitting a separate application.
HSBA Accredited Providers listed below are accredited for the 2025 calendar year. Attorneys may take courses from these providers and receive the specified number of CLE credits from the courses as classified by the provider. Providers will be added to this list as they become accredited.

Hawaii Bar members may claim ethics or CLE credit for CLE courses or activities attended outside Hawaii provided that:
If the above criteria are met you need not submit an attorney application for course approval to the Hawaii State Board of Continuing Legal Education. Active members may claim credit for the course or activity to the same extent as in the approving jurisdiction.

When a Hawaii attorney may claim CLE credit for an out-of-state course or activity ⓘ
When a Hawaii attorney may claim CLE credit for an out-of-state course or activity:
An active member of the Hawaii State Bar who is in California and attends and completes a course or activity approved by California for California CLE credit may claim Hawaii CLE credit for the number o credit hours approved by California.
An active member of the Hawaii State Bar who is in Vancouver, Canada and attends and completes a course or activity approved by Washington for Washington CLE credit may claim Hawaii CLE credit for the number of credit hours approved by Washington.
An active member of the Hawaii State Bar who completes a webcast from his office in Honolulu that originated in New York City and was approved in California, New York City and Illinois, may claim Hawaii CLE credit for the number of credit hours approved in the HSBA Approved Jurisdiction.
When a Hawaii attorney may not claim CLE credit ⓘ
When a Hawaii attorney may not claim CLE credit:
If an active member of the Hawaii State Bar is physically present in Hawaii when participating in a live inperson CLE course or activity, the activity must first be approved for CLE credit by the Hawaii State Board of Continuing Legal Education in order for the Hawaii attorney to claim Hawaii CLE credit for the course or activity.
If the activity takes place in a state on the list of HSBA Approved Jurisdiction’s but has not been approved by the jurisdiction or any other jurisdiction on the list, then the activity must first be approved for CLE credit by the Hawaii State Board of Continuing Legal Education in order for the Hawaii attorney to claim Hawaii CLE credit for the course or activity.
