Summary:
This seminar will focus on the case for retirement and/or succession planning.

We will discuss selecting your assisting /emergency lawyer, deciding upon the ultimate plan, avoiding road blocks to retirement and finally, examining insurance issues. 

Speakers:
Deborah Bjes; Swiss Re Corporate Solutions
Deborah Bjes is the dedicated risk manager for the lawyer's professional liability group with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Deborah manages and provides risk management resources to insureds that include a quarterly newsletter, articles and bulletins, and a risk management website. She is also available for general risk management guidance. Deborah also provides on-site seminars for insured law firms and has spoken at state bar association annual conferences. 

Deborah is a licensed attorney who, prior to commencing her insurance career, was a partner at a mid-sized insurance defense Chicago law firm where she received experience in representing clients in a variety of complex commercial and insurance defense litigation matters in both state and federal court. Deborah first chaired jury trials to verdict and handled a broad case load that consisted of varied areas of practice including professional negligence, product liability, construction, civil rights, and catastrophic injury. 

Elizabeth Whitney; Swiss Re Corporate Solutions
Elizabeth Whitney is Senior Vice President and Head of the Small & Mid-sized US lawyers professional liability program for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. She supervises numerous underwriters and a risk manager. 

Elizabeth is also a licensed attorney who, prior to commencing her insurance career, was a trial attorney at a mid-sized insurance defense Chicago law firm.
