The HSBA Board took the following actions at its meeting in June:

Voted to defer action pending receipt of resumes and expressions of interest from all candidates who applied to the West Hawaii Bar Association before the deadline for such submissions;

After considering all candidates, voted for Michael Iosua to fill the remaining term of the Oahu Director position created by the resignation of Simeona Mariano.

Consider offering your expertise or fresh ideas to the 2027 Young Lawyers Division Board or Senior Counsel Division by running in the next election as an officer or director!
YLD Board - The following YLD officer positions will be available from January 2027: Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary; and Director positions for Oahu, Kauai, East Hawaii, and West Hawaii. Active and inactive members are eligible to run in this election. If interested, please submit cover letter and short bio to yldhawaii@gmail.com.
SCD Board - Volunteer for the HSBA Senior Counsel Division Board of Directors! Be a part of developing and promoting programs serving the senior members of the bar. The following SCD officer positions will be available in January 2027: Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary; and Director positions for O‘ahu (3). Submit a letter of interest, short bio, and headshot to scd@hsba.org by Friday, July 31, 2026.

The Supreme Court of Hawai‘i seeks public comment regarding proposed amendments to Rule 4 of the Hawai‘i Rules of Appellate Procedure. The proposed amendments address post judgment tolling motions.
Comments should be submitted in writing no later than Monday, July 6, 2026
