The HSBA Board took the following actions at its meeting in March:
- Approved the recommendation of the joint Executive-Finance Committee to allow more flexibility and autonomy to the neighbor island bar associations on using the allocated $20/per capita, with such recommendation being a part of an overall reassessment of HSBA governance documents and a goal to have the revised work product for implementation in 2027;
- Approved the recommendation of the HSBA Nominating Committee to appoint the following individuals as HSBA representatives to the Special Committee on Judicial Performance (aka Rule 19 Committee) for a 3-year term beginning April 2026:

- Thomas, Ryan (new applicant)
- Yau, Eric (reappointment)

The Criminal Division of the First Circuit Court is seeking attorneys interested in serving as court appointed counsel in criminal cases.
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Hawai‘i and have experience in litigation and/or criminal practice. Applicants should indicate whether they have a preference of offense classifications for which they would like to be considered.
