Summary:
The Biden Administration is coming into power at a unique moment in American history. COVID-19 is still with us and poses continuing threats to civil rights. These range from the treatment of people who are unsheltered, to unequal access to medical care and education based on race, to COVID outbreaks in jails and prisons, and more. And there is a national discourse happening about systemic racism and its effects on institutions and individuals throughout our country.

As the Biden-Harris administration begins its term, action is needed to protect and extend the rights and liberties promised in our Constitution and work toward a vision of the country that heralds justice, fairness, and equality for all of us.

This CLE will review some of the promises the Biden Administration has made, some of the actions it has already taken, and what civil rights advocates say is truly needed and whether those needs are being met.
