2023 Law Coalition's Annual Food Drive Campaign

The Hawai‘i State Bar Association is once again supporting the Hawai‘i Foodbank, the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i, the Maui Foodbank, and the Food Basket of the Big Island through a statewide Law Coalition monetary campaign for the purchase of needed fresh food and other pantry staples. With special SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Benefits set to expire and Hawaii's needs increasing for 2023, the Hawaii Foodbank needs your support more than ever! An estimated 90,500 households in Hawai‘i will be affected. Hawai‘i families continue to face financial challenges in their efforts to stretch limited dollars for basic necessities. Here are some key statistics:

  • 1 in 6 Hawai‘i residents will experience food insecurity this year, including 1 in 4 keiki.
  • Hawai‘i currently has the second highest rate of child food insecurity in the nation.
  • For every $1 donated, 2.15 meals meals are provided.
  • It is estimated that for 2023, $8.7 million will be need to meet Hawai‘i's needs.

The Law Coalition Food Drive Campaign has been extended through March 24! Click here to donate today! Our fundraising goal is $60,000. Mahalo to those who have contributed to the campaign. The Hawaii Foodbank is thankful for the Legal Community's efforts in nourishing our ‘ohana.
