Judge Richard A. Platel (ret.), Chief Disciplinary Counsel

Judge Platel is the Chief Disciplinary Counsel of the Office of Disciplinary Counsel for the Disciplinary Board of the Hawaii Supreme Court and is a former State Bar Court of California Hearings Judge. He has extensive experience in the area of attorney discipline and regulation, serving as a prosecutor and later as the head of the Investigations Unit in the Office of the Chief Trial Counsel of the State Bar of California. Judge Platel is a graduate of Temple University and Temple University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of Hawaii, the State of California, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
