Aloha, Judge Nakasone!
The swearing-in ceremony for Karen T. Nakasone as Judge of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit was held on November 1 at the Supreme Court Courtroom among numerous family, friends and colleagues. President Louise Ing is pictured on right with Judge Nakasone after the ceremony.

Justice McKenna's swearing-in ceremony was held on March 3, 2011 among family and friends at the Hawaii Supreme Court. Justice McKenna was unanimously approved by the Senate for the appointment on February 16, 2011.
Honolulu District Court Users May Experience Delays in Accessing Building Elevators
Work to upgrade and modernize the elevators at the Honolulu District Court building on the corner of Alakea and Hotel Streets will begin on Tuesday, February 22. The project should be completed by December 2011.
Court users are being asked to please anticipate and plan for delays when entering and exiting the building. At least one of the four public elevators will not be in use during this time.
Court matters handled at this busy courthouse include small claims and regular claims cases, landlord-tenant disputes, traffic cases, and misdemeanors. The facility also houses two circuit court divisions handling domestic violence jury trials.
