 Junior Judges (April 21-25, 2008)
Due to an overwhelming response from elementary schools (over 140 presentations have been requested to date), we are still in need of volunteers to help with our Junior Judges program.  Law Week (April 25-May 2, 2008)
This year’s law week will be held from April 25 through May 2, 2008.
• Golf Tournament: To kick-off the week, on Friday, April 25, 2008, we have the 36th Annual Law Day Golf Tournament, which was founded by General Morton Gold as an activity to bring together civilian and military attorneys in camaraderie, fellowship, and golf. The golf tournament will take place at the Mamala Bay Golf Course with a “shot gun” start set for 12:30 p.m. Cost to participate is $100/person ($80 for active or retired military). Please contact Amy at (808) 539-4084 to register.
• Clinics: The YLD will host Law Week Clinics all over Oahu on Saturday, April 26, 2008. YLD needs attorney volunteers to staff the clinic tables, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Volunteer attorneys will staff shifts at each location (10:00-12:30 and 12:30-3:00), but we are flexible in accommodating any time volunteers can spare. The objective is for the volunteer attorneys to provide free consultations/legal referral information to the greater community. Volunteer paralegals will assist with the intake of clients. No experience in any particular area of law is necessary. Lunch will be provided at the various locations.
• Legal Line: In addition to our weekly Wednesday night Legal Line, we will be adding special Legal Line Hotlines on Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29 from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
 National Law Day will be May 1, 2008. Please check the HSBA website, for more up to date information on the law week activities and Law Day celebration.
 Ready for the World (May 12-16, 2008)
Our Ready for the World project is set for May 12-16, 2008. Please save the dates. Volunteers are needed for this very worthwhile project, which helps educate Hawaii’s young people about their rights and responsibilities as they enter adulthood.

Now that you are a lawyer and (hopefully) earning some money, what should you do with it? Come listen to Verne Takagi, experienced financial planner, share his tips about money basics--earning, spending, saving, investing, and planning for the future. If there is one piece of advice any financial planner will give you, it is that the best time to learn about money management is now while you are still a young lawyer!
