About the Judicial Survey
Your HSBA Judicial Administration Committee (JAC) maintains a close relationship with the Judiciary on matters of mutual concern to the Bench and Bar and is committed to the improvement of the judiciary and administration of justice. Last year, the JAC did a “talk story” session with the civil Circuit Court Judges and certain HSBA Sections whose practice was primarily in Circuit Court, to discuss how the Bench and Bar could work together to address the Court’s policies and procedures affected by the budgetary cuts and to improve the judicial process and administration of justice. As a result of that talk story session, JAC developed a questionnaire asking the civil Circuit Court Judges about their respective policies and procedures for things such as motions, discovery, pre-trial matters and settlement conferences. The survey provides a general overview of how each Judge handles matters before his or her Courtroom. The Judges were very open to facilitating “information sharing” between the Bench and Bar and to promote judicial efficiency so that every Bar member knows what is expected of him or her when appearing or scheduling something before a certain Judge.
*PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME. PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE AS ANY CHANGES TO THE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WILL BE NOTED HERE.
