2015 HSBA Board Candidates

In accordance with Article VII, Section 3, of the HSBA Constitution & Bylaws, a committee has made nominations for officer and director positions of the HSBA Board (see list below).  Ballots will be distributed in mid-late September and the election results announced at the 2014 Annual Meeting at the Bar Convention.

 

HSBA members of active status may also be nominated by written petition signed by at least 20 regular members and submitted to the HSBA Board Secretary in care of the HSBA, 1100 Alakea Street, Suite 1000, Honolulu, HI 96813, within fifteen days of the publication date of the July Hawaii Bar Journal (the date this issue is received at the HSBA office).

HSBA Award Nomination Deadline Extended to August 1

Know of an unsung hero who is deserving of recognition? Nominate a colleague for one of these HSBA Awards:

* Golden Gavel Award recognizes an attorney or non-attorney for outstanding service to the state or federal judiciary in Hawaii.

* C. Frederick Schutte Award recognizes an attorney for outstanding service to the legal community and the profession.

* 'Ikena Award recognizes an attorney or non-attorney for exceptional service in legal education to the public or the profession.

* Ki'e Ki'e Award recognizes an attorney for outstanding provision of professional legal services at no charge to the recipient.

* Greeley Key Award for Innovation recognizes an attorney or non-attorney for promoting new and creative uses of, or approaches to, the law.

* Champion for Social Justice Award recognizes an attorney for courageous legal work in the face of public controversy.

* Malama Hawaii Award recognizes an attorney for effective non-legal community service activities that make a difference and improve the quality of life in Hawaii.
